Mahira Khan recently ventured into production with a telefilm “Aik Hai Nigaar” in which she played the titular Nigaar. The latest from Khan is a web series titled “Baarwan Khiladi” which is based on a cricket team.
Trailer of the series has been released and it features Daniyal Zafar as the ‘baarwan khiladi’ of a cricket team and Shahveer Jaffery as the antagonist. The trailer shows the hints of classism that a cricketer from low-middle class would experience.
This made us recall the 2013’s release “Main Hoon Shahod Afridi” that had the similar setting with the protagonist Noman Habib from lower-middle strata and antagonist Shahzad Sheikh from the elite class.
The trailer also features Kinza Hashmi, Sarmad Khoosat, Shafqat Cheema and Saba Faisal while Fawad Khan is seen in a cameo appearance. The web-series is produced by Mahira Khan and Nina Kashif and is directed by Adnan Sarwar who previously helmed films like “Shah” and “The Motorcycle Girl”.
It will be released on March 5.
