Humayun Saeed in not just one of the most bankable actors of Pakistan, he’s also running one of the leading production houses. Since his last film, ‘London Nahin Jaunga’, Humayun’s production house has been mainly producing TV projects one after the other. His currently on-air serial ‘Kuch Ankahi’, produced under his production company’s collaboration with Kashf Foundation, is not just receiving critical acclaim but is also among the top serials of the season.
While Humayun Saeed’s next film ‘Love Guru’ with Mahira Khan is expected to go on floors later this year, the production house is also working on its tent-pole TV project ‘Mein Manto Nahin Hoon’. The project is written by Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar and it was originally perceived for a feature film but is later adapted now for TV serial.
In a recent interview with Vasay Chaudhry, Khalil-Ur-Rehman Qamar confirmed the leading lady of the serial opposite Humayun Saeed and it’s none other than Sajal Aly. There have been rumours circulating about Maya Ali and Mehwish Hayat doing the same project, therefor we contacted the writer to confirm whether Sajal has replaced any of them or is she signed for some other role.
“Sajal has not replaced anyone. She was signed to do it. All other previous news about casting of this project are mere rumours”, said the ‘Mere Pass Tum Ho’ writer while responding to Pakistani Cinema.
In his previous interviews, Humayun also confirmed that ‘Main Manto Nahin Hoon’ is not Manto’s biopic, rather his name is symbolic in the serial. It’s an intense love story with a little bit of action as well.
Directed by Nadeem Baig and produced under the banner of Six Sigma Plus, ‘Main Manto Nahin Hoon’ will be made for ARY Digital.
