The global hit song from Coke Studio Pakistan Season 14, ‘Pasoori’ remained the highlight of 2022. The song transcended all barriers of language and borders and went on to become a massive hit not just in Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and rest of South Asia but it also became popular in other continents as well.
In India, the song held on to number 1 spot at all major music applications for quite a long time until Arijit Singh’s ‘Kesariya’ arrived. Well now the latest update is that Bollywood is all set to cash on to the widely popular song by including it in upcoming film titled ‘Saryaprem Ki Katha’ that stars Kartik Aaryan and Kiara Advani.
According to Bollywood Hungama, “The shoot (of song) will take place tomorrow (on June 21) and it will be shot in Mumbai over a period of two days. The set is being put up and the team is ready to unleash their final brahmastra in the release week. The song, Pasoori, is extremely popular in the digital world and the team is hoping to recreate the same magic”.
While original ‘Pasoori’ remains one of the most popular songs from Pakistan in recent times with 593 Million views on You Tube alone, it will be interesting to see how a major production banner like that of Sajid Nadiadwala pulls off the film version of this modern classic. However, with Bollywood’s record of mostly ruining the classics from India and Pakistan in last two decades, we are keeping our hopes as low as possible.
