‘The Pink Shirt’ Teaser (Review): Wahaj and Sajal Starrer Promises To Tick All The Right Boxes!

Complex relationships, comedy of errors, a fishbowl, a corny date, and a pink shirt. All these things best describe ZEE5’s ‘The Pink Shirt’ (TPS). Two of the country’s biggest stars Sajal Aly and Wahaj Ali are set to share screen space for the first time. It also stars Sania Saeed, Rehan Sheikh, Nazish Jehangir and Hamza Firdous in important roles. If the first look had you excited, the official teaser will make you impatient for the web series to release.

Well, that isn’t it. More reasons spice up the proceedings. TPS is directed by magician Kashif Nisar and is written by prolific writer Bee Gul. If you are living under a stone and are ignorant about Nisar and Gul’s body of work, just Google it as we are coming straight to the point. The trailer dropped yesterday and it was hard to ignore it.

TPS tells the story of Sophia (Sajal Aly) who is done with her unhappy marriage with Sameer (Hamza Firdous). She seeks respite and in this process, she crosses paths with a young businessman Omar (Wahaj Ali) who is entangled in a troubled relationship with fiancée Sara (Nazish Jahangir). Sophia and Omar start seeing each other until her mother-in-law Neelum Malik (Sania Saeed) enters the frame to sort out his son’s troubled marriage and seek reconciliation.

TPS delves deep into exploring complex human emotions and rediscovering family bonds in the most humorous way possible. Sajal and Wahaj make for an interesting pair and their chemistry is just unmissable. Ditto for Sajal’s equation with veteran actors Saeed and Sheikh, some of their comic scenes in the teaser catch the viewer’s attention. Kashif Nisar has the reputation of transporting viewers into a different world and TPS and is no different. It looks fresh and high on drama.

For the unversed, the web series has premiered at the London Film Festival on October 27. We are super excited about ‘The Pink Shirt’. Are you? Let us know in the comment section below.
