Momina Duraid, the household name behind films like “Bin Roye” and Eid ul azha’s most anticipated release “Parwaz ha Junoon” makes some big announcement for the readers of Pakistani Cinema. Its confirmed by Momina that MD Production’s next project which is titled as “Superstar” will star Pakistan’s global icon Mahira Khan opposite Janaan star Bilal Ashraf, whose last film Rngreza though failed to leave any mark but considering the fact that the couple would be seen for the first time sharing big screen,we can’t be more excited to see how their chemistry translates on silver screen.
What’s more intriguing is the genre of the film,as according to Momina’s claim it is going to be something never tried before in Pakistani cinema.”Superstar is going to be a musical romantic comedy”, says Momina “with a deep social message encompassing the theater scene of Pakistan”. The story doesn’t end here. Screenplay for the film is created by supremely talented Azaan Sami khan ,the producer of “Operation 021” and music composer of “Parwaz Ha junoon” while the dialogues are written by an Indian writer who’s name is being kept under wraps. Film will be directed by Ehtishamudin who earlier impressed everyone with his groundbreaking critical and mass success drama ” Udari”.
“I have never heard such a sharp and crisp screenplay before” says Bin Roye producer “and the songs penned and composed by Azan again are beautifully done. Two songs are sung by Atif already, while other singers are yet to be decided” .The film might be one of the Eid releases of 2019 and will go on floors by the end of 2018.
Mahira Khan, whose last film “7 Din Mohabbat In” received mixed to good reviews, has already Bilal Lashari’s remake of Maula Jatt ready to release sometime in early 2019 and now with lead role in “Superstar” and a pivotal role in Maya Ali starrer “Parray Hat Love”, we can say that 2019 has a lot in store for Mahira Khan’s fans.
