Sarman Sultan Khoosat’s name is not new to Pakistani showbiz industry and its followers. The talented actor, director and writer has a body of works which speaks volumes of how frequently this soft spoken man has proved his mettle in the showbiz arena.
Sarmad’s silver screen directorial debut, “Manto” is considered a cult classic amongst Pakistani filmy library. Film buffs have been waiting eagerly for him to grace the cinema screens with his next venture and it’s been a while we heard of any new film project from him post “Manto”. But now it looks like we won’t be waiting too long as Sarmad has already announced two films under his belt.
Speaking to a recently launched entertainment website the “Shashlik” Debutant director stated that his first film for 2019 is going to be a Punjabi film and its the kind of a film that “he really wants to make” adding further in his own words “its a really bad ass film”. The untitled project will be going on floors November this year. It’s penned by a fresh Graduate from NCA and all of the preproduction of the film including music, script and casting is already completed. Cast will be revealed shortly in coming days.
The second film is a commercial one that is written by Sarmad himself and its shooting is going to start in March 2019. According to Sarmad “it’s the kind of a film which I feel our people want to see in cinemas.”
Industry insiders and Fans were equally anticipating this rather long awaited announcement by Sarmad and it looks like we will be cherishing some cinematic treats from the talented Director in the year to come.
