“The Trial” enters post-production, will use elaborate visual effects

Kamran Shahid’s “The Trial” was announced in late 2016, and since then not much has been heard about the movie. Based on certain tragic incidents around the 1971 fall of Dhakka, the film was billed by its makers as an epic period piece, the kind that has not been witnessed in Pakistani cinema before.

We at PakistaniCinema.net have the latest on the film. A source close to the production confirms that the film has wrapped up its shooting and is currently in its post-production phase. The film is going to involve an extensive use of visual effects to stay true to the period the story is set in, and from what we hear the end-results are very impressive and have to be seen to be believed.

“The Trial” stars Meekal Zulfiqar, Sadia  Khan, Ayesha Omar, Shamoon Abbasi and Aly khan in its key roles. Once the post production phase wraps up, the film is expected to release at some point this year, although no date has been finalized so far.
