Box Office: ‘Avengers: Endgame’ Grinds to a Halt in Pakistan as Ramzan Begins

“Avengers: Endgame” has ground to a halt on its second Monday in Pakistan due to the beginning of Ramzan. The film has already surpassed expectations in Pakistan by becoming the highest single day grosser, highest opening weekend grosser, and the fastest film to PKR 200 million and then 250 million, but its luck has eventually run out.
Film’s second Monday saw a gigantic fall.

According to Entertainment Pakistan, film has collected a total of just PKR 0.4 million in metro cities like Rawalpindi/Islamabad, and an overall estimate of PKR 3 million on second Monday. The onset of Ramzan has not only led to cinemas being totally abandoned, but the number of shows are also reduced out of respect for the Holy month.

Cinemas in Pakistan will remain vacant throughout the Holy month and Endgame will struggle, and probably fail to make some lifetime business records in Pakistan. Overall cinema attendance will only rise when Eid arrives a month from now.
