Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir Geared Up for a Web Series

Previously Pakistani Cinema updated on the upcoming venture by “Parwaaz Hai Junoon” director Haseeb Hassan. We informed our readers that the project is a web series, titled “Dhoop ki Deewar” and it is penned by the phenomenal novel and drama writer Umera Ahmed. The series was initially a collaboration with Indian streaming platform, Zee5, but due to the current situations that doesn’t seem happening. According to The News, the series will release online on various leading international platforms that might also include Netflix.

While talking to Instep, Haseeb Hassan uncloaked the most excited part of the series that says Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir have been roped in for the lead roles in it. Moreover, the story plot itself is going to be a catch because of the on going tension between India and Pakistan over the Kashmir dispute.

The story is based on real incidents like Pulwama attack and the miseries that people have gone through due to such situations. The series will portray how war affects the very humanity and the families left behind by the martyrs on both sides of the borders. It’s not going to be a project that would favor any country but it seems like a story that is going to narrate the sufferings of the families and the martyrs who lived and died in this ever lasting war lile situation between India and Pakistan.

Along with the story plot which seems like an effort for mankind, Haseeb mentions about how he wanted to have Indian actors in the series as well but he couldn’t. “Initially we thought to have Indian actors on board too but considering the present scenario in India, we dropped the idea”.

“Dhoop ki Deewar” is being produced by Hassan’s production banner, Hamdan Films in partnership with Motion Content Group Pakistan, with support from the ISPR. The two banners have earlier collaborated for a telefilm “Laal” that was also written by Umera Ahmed and directed by Haseeb Hasan.

Apart from Sajal Aly and Ahad Raza Mir, the series features some prominent names of industry including Savera Nadeem, Samiya Mumtaz, Manzar Sehbai, Samina Ahmed, Zaib Rehman and Adnan Jaffer. The web series is said to release online soon in coming months.
