Ace director Haseeb Hassan is all set to return with his next feature film after 2018’s “Parwaz Hai Junoon”. It was recently announced through the facebook handle of his production company “Hamdan Films”. Pakistani Cinema got in touch with Haseeb to know more about the project.
There were rumors of it being a War based period film on the Pakistan Navy. However, talking to Pakistani Cinema, the “Alif” director rejected the rumors saying that though its a Navy based film, it’s not entirely war based.
”Just a fragment of it is based on war and a period in history otherwise its a current era film.”
He went on to say, “Its the first time the Armed Forces are making such a film in Pakistan where people will get to see a perfect package of humour, extensive romance and emotions”. Comparing this to his previous project “Parwaz Hai Junoon” Haseeb said “Its a more powerful and uplevel project than PHJ.”
With Umera Ahmed penning the project we asked Haseeb how confident he was to have her writing a feature film for the first time to which he responded “I am a hundred percent confident about her writing prowess and she has done very good work with the script”
Haseeb previously directed the telefilm “Laal” with the Navy, starring Bilal Abbas Khan and we couldn’t help asking him about sticking with the Navy for the feature film too.
To which he replied “I was always supposed to do a feature film with the Navy after “Parwaz Hai Junoon” however that couldn’t materialize because of my team’s commitments with other projects that’s why we did the telefilm “Laal” for the time being last year”
Talking about cast of the project Haseeb revealed “The casting is already done, all the leads and major supporting actors are final. We are just waiting for the prerequisites to be completed to announce it. The announcement will be made on 28th February”
The movie is all set to go on floors this April and with names like Haseeb Hassan and Umera Ahmed already attached to the project it surely adds to the already exciting movie lineup for 2020.
