Pakistani Cinema earlier exclusively reported about Sheheryar Munawar staring in Wajahat Rauf’s next titled “Pardey Mai Rehnay Do”. However, due to some unknown reasons, Sheheryar had to quit the project.
Director Wajahat Rauf today shared a picture from first day shoot of the film and this made us reach out to him to ask which actor is the movie finally going on floors with.
To this the “Karachi se Lahore” director exclusively revealed to Pakistani Cinema that Ali Rehman Khan has replaced Sheheryar Munawar in the project. The film features Hania Amir in lead and hence this will be the second film where Hania Amir and Ali Rehman will share the screen after 2016’s “Janaan”.
The film is written by Mohsin Ali who is best known for writing “Wrong No.” and writing and directing “Chuppan Chuppai”. Mohsin has also written Hassan Zia’s film “Ghabrana Nahi Hai“, thus two of his scripts will release this year.
Its pertinent to add here that the project was initially supposed to be directed by Mohsin himself with actor Ahsan Khan in lead. However, the turn of events eventually landed the script in Wajahat Rauf’s lap with Sheheryar replacing Ahsan in the role who has now gotten replaced by Ali Rehman Khan.
The film will be produced by Wajahat Rauf under the banner of his production company Showcase Productions with Zayed Sheikh, who produced and acted in “Chuppan Chuppai”, as co-producer.
While Wajahat’s previous films were lighthearted entertainers, according to our source, this movie, despite being a romantic comedy, deals with somewhat taboo subject and has a very strong message.
Coming back to the lead cast, while Ali Rehman Khan’s last film was 2019’s Eid release “Heer Maan Ja”, Hania’s last film as lead actor, “Parwaaz Hai Junoon”, was released back in 2018 and the starlet was last seen in a cameo appearance in the Mahira Khan starrer “Superstar”.
