Geo News and 7th Sky Entertainment has suspended its contract with writer Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar. The two platforms had earlier signed a contract with the writer for writing one feature film and four TV serials in year 2020. The move came in wake of the recent events which saw Khalil Ur Rehman Qamar using abusive language against Marvi Sirmed on live TV.
The announcement came through the social media handle of Geo TV and read that the channel believes in promoting culture of “Geo aur Jeenay do” and healthy debate within norms of decency thus Geo will not be collaborating with the writer until he believes for his ill language.
The announcement was welcomed by celebrities like Mahira Khan, Sarmad Khoosat and Osman Khalid Butt.

Adding, “The channel is doing this in order to please foreign funded feminists. I am fortunate to have an opportunity to sacrifice for the noble cause and submit myself to the will of Allah”
