Saim Sadiq’s “Joyland” is making waves in international markets. Film was first released in France where it minted more than a million US dollars. After an unprecedented run for a Pakistani film in France, the film has now been released in Spain and UK where it has taken a good start at box office.
Film was released in Spain on 10th February across 27 screens. With a limited release, the Pakistani feature managed to collect $28,973 (74.5 lac PKR) in two weeks.
In UK, the film was released this Friday on February 24 and it has managed to rake in £61,461 (1.9 crore PKR) over the opening weekend. Film is released in UK by Studio Soho at 84 locations.
Film is nearing the 30 crore PKR mark from its international run. And with its release in USA, Switzerland, India and Eastern Europe in coming days, it might cross that mark very soon.
“Joyland” will be released in Switzerland by Trigon on March 9, in India by PVR on March 10, in USA by Oscilloscope on April 7 and across Eastern Europe by HBO on May 1st.
