Saqib Malik’s “Baji” to explore various dance genres via its different dance numbers

Saqib Malik’s directorial debut “Baji” has been in the news since quite a while and we don’t have to enumerate the reasons to you for this much anticipated project of 2019. The film has been carrying quite a few potentially interesting credentials. From Meera’s comeback project, to carrying an interesting cast of Osman Khalid Butt, Amna Ilyas, Ali Kazmi and Mohsin Abbas, the film seems to have a unique spot amongst the upcoming Pakistani films.

Few days ago we saw Amna Ilyas and Osman Khalid Butt’s BTS dance rehersal picture making rounds on social media, after which we at Pakistanicinema.net got to talk to Saqib Malik himself to learn about whats going on on the music and dance front and his response has us super excited!! This is what he revealed:

It Might be a bit early, but yes, we have some really wonderful dance sequences in the film ranging from a Lahore commercial stage number, to a classy ballroom waltz number. We also shot a very cool club number that should get everyone moving. I love dance and with great dancers like Meera, Amna Ilyas , Osman Khalid Butt, Mohsin Abbas and Ali Kazmi, it’s been a treat to shoot them. We also have a surprise up our sleeve but can’t reveal that yet”.

Now that’s something to watch out for, a film that explores various dance genres in Pakistan via different dance numbers. And with Saqib Malik at the helm of affairs we are sure that the music of this” film will be groovy and dance worthy too so expecting a shadi/party album from “Baji” won’t be an exaggeration either.

Here is our team wishing all the best to its maker for its success and you guys keep reading the space for more exciting news of all the happenings of Pakistani cinema industry.
