The Trailer of “Kaaf Kangana” is Out and It Gives Some Major Old School Nostalgia

“Kaaf Kangana” has been in the news for quite some time and is undoubtedly one of the most awaited projects of the year, the main reason being the writer-director credit of Khalil ur Rahman Qamar. Audiences loved the characters and dialogues of “Punjab Nahi Jaungi” which was first of Khalil for the new wave of Pakistani cinema. So, what Mr. Qamar does next is of obvious interest to us.

The Trailer of “Kaaf Kangana” gives some major old school nostalgia. The trailer calls the film “an intense but incomplete Love Story of 1947 awaiting to be completed in 2019” so there is definitely a narrative that links the present with past. It’s supposed to take us back to the partition era where two people fell in love in the midst of all the chaos.

The Trailer features Sami Khan and Fiza Ali delivering high-octane dialogue, signature of Khalil. The screen space given to Fiza’s character is more than the lead Eshal Fayaz and second lead Ayesha Omer which indicates that her character is pivotal to the narrative. Here we couldn’t help but miss Resham who was first supposed to play this character but could not do so due to other work commitments.

The patriotism fueled dialogues that mock the Indian army is something that reminds us of old school Lollywood, more precisely Shaan and Zara Sheikh starrer “Tere Pyar Mein”. The music too features some tunes that reminds us of old Lollywood and Bollywood filmy music but in a pleasant way. The trailer also features a glimpse of Neelam Muneer grooving to a dance number which is apparently set in India.

“Kaaf Kangana” stars Sami Khan, Eshal Fayyaz, Ayesha Omer, Aabi Khan, Fiza Ali, Sajid Hassan and Rashid Mehmood.

The film will be released in cinemas by Excellency Films on Eid ul Azha, 2019.
