Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s Sitara to Release on Netflix in March

Sitara, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy’s next animated flick will be released on Netflix on March 8th, 2020.

The film was slated for a 2020 release according to news reports. However no release date had been finalized.

It was screened at the LA Animation Film Festival in December and won acclaim as well as awards. It was also recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival.

Now, the film is finally going to be available to the masses through Netflix.

As to why Waadi Animations and Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy decided to release this on Netflix instead of in Cinemas. There are two reasons. The first is its niche subject matter. The second is that it’s a short film running just 15 minutes long.
