Gangster thriller is a genre less explored in Pakistani cinema. The only film that explored this territory in recent times is 2019’s release “Laal Kabootar”. Now the latest to delve into the genre is Abu Aleeha’s next film “Daadal”. The film will star Sonya Hussyn and Mohsin Abbas Haider in lead roles.
Sonya will be seen essaying the role of a contract killer and she is said to have invested a lot of time and energy to get into the skin of this character. There are coaches hired for Sonya to learn the proper Lyari dialect for the project. The actress also went through various physical and weapon trainings for action sequences in the film. Taking to Instagram, Sonya shared a still from film where she can be seen wearing boxing gloves.

Mohsin Abbas Haider will be playing role of a cop. According to our sources Mohsin too has spent a lot of time in Lyari’s police stations to observe the mannerism of people over there. He can be seen in his cop avatar in this exclusive BTS photo from the sets.
The film is already on floors and looking at Aleeha’s record of completing his projects in time, this too is expected to wrap soon. However, what makes “Daadal” different from Aleeha’s previous projects is its production value. Unlike his previous projects where the production value is often compromised, “Daadal” is being produced with a decent budget. Even for cinematography, this time Aleeha opted for Asrad Khan who has got commercial films like “Chhalawa” and “Karachi Sey Lahore” to his credit.
The film is written and directed by Abu Aleeha and produced by Neha Laaj.
