All Movies Releasing in Pakistan on Eid Ul Fitr 2024

This year 9 movies are going to be releasing in Pakistan for Eid Ul Fitr. There is one big Pakistani release (and one re-release of director’s cut), two Indonesian horror and five big Hollywood releases that will release in cinemas on Eid.

Daghabaaz Dil

“Daghabaaz Dil” is the latest offering from Wajahat Rauf (“Karachi Se Lahore”, “Chhalawa”). The film stars Mehwish Hayat and Ali Rehman Khan in the lead. The teaser for the film shows pretty standard Eid movie fare, with a wedding going on with some drama ensuing.

Along for the ride are Babar Ali, Saleem Sheikh, Momin Saqib, Laila Wasti and Ayesha Khan. The film promises song, dance, and Wajahat Rauf’s signature laughs and thrills. It’s been some time since an all out wedding entertainer has been released, so this should serve for some fun family entertainment.

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire

Without a doubt the biggest commercial release this Eid-ul-Fitr will be Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Focusing on the two biggest titans of the silver screen, this film will be about them facing off against another competing monster from the underground world.

The film will star Milly Bobbie Brown and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles from the previous films. However, people will only go to see the mayhem and destruction that the two titans will wreak on the big screen.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire

The latest entry in the Ghostbusters franchise is a direct continuation of Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Set 3 years after the previous film, this sequel brings back three of the original ghostbusters from 1984 (Bill Murray, Dan Akroyd and Ernie Hudson) as they battle to save New York City.

Taxali Gate: Director’s Cut

The director’s cut of Taxali Gate will be releasing on Eid Ul Fitr as well. This one features a transformed first half and several added scenes. Fans of the original will appreciate this more since, according to Director Abu Aleeha, this version flows better and has more character exploration.

Pemandi Janazah

This Indonesian horror flick is hitting theaters on Eid Ul Fitr as well. It involves a woman who bathes dead bodies before they are buried. The woman in question is affected by an evil force. If you liked Sijjin, Pemandi Janazah might be the flick for you.

Pemukiman Setan

Another Indonesian horror film is coming to theaters this Eid Ul Fitr. Pemukiman Setan (meaning the House of Shaitaan) is about a woman trying to escape a life filled with abuse and disrespect. She joins 3 of her friends in robbing a house of antiques. It’s inside this house that the horror begins.

Algea: God of Pain

Another horror movie hitting theaters in Pakistan is Algae: God of Pain. The title references the god of pain from Greek mythology. It features a plot where different characters battle their own demons and come face to face with Algae.

The First Omen

A prequel to the 1978 horror classic, “The First Omen” seeks to explore how Damien Thorne came to be in the first place. Those who remember that iconic scene where Gregory Peck’s character discovers the terrifying truth about his son will get more tantalizing morsels to this mystery.

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2

Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 is a sequel to the indie horror film that corrupted the huggable bear into a murdering psychotic. If you liked the original, which is highly unlikely, you may want to check this one out.

Note: PakistaniCinema.Net acknowledges that there are plans to release “Hum Tum Aur Woo” on Eid, but since the film is currently being protested by members of the film fraternity, we have not included it in this list. Morover, there is an Indian  Punjabi film ‘Parahuna 2’ expected to release in Punjab, however, the film has yet to obtain censor clearance.

Stay Tuned for more updates.
