Dark, Mystical And Unconventional, The Trailer Of ‘Barzakh’ Is Nothing Ordinary!

The trailer of Asim Abbasi’s much-anticipated web series ‘Barzakh’ has finally surfaced online. The supernatural romance marks the return of Fawad Khan and Sanam Saeed together after Zindagi Gulzar Hai (2013).

Set in the beautiful Hunza valley, the larger-than-life trailer gives glimpses of a family reunion, wrapped around supernatural elements and delusion. The story follows the life of a 76-years old man played by (Salman Shahid) who gathers his children and grandchildren to attend his wedding. And that too with the ghost of his first true love.

We see Fawad Khan driving up the hills into the ‘Land of Nowhere’. He crosses paths with the mysterious Sanam Saeed the caretaker of the property. Everyone is excited to see the bride, and as the wedding approaches but they witness a series of supernatural events. “The emotionally profound narrative makes viewers think about life’s mysteries, what happens after death, and the deep feeling of love that ties us together,” read its official synopsis

Abbasi well known for creating magic and deeply nuanced characters in his previous outing ‘Cake’ and ‘Churails’ seems to be in full form here. He transports viewers into a world where the ordinary meets the extraordinary. One thing is for sure, the spooky yet beautiful show along with class acts is definitely a must-watch.

The six-episode show also stars Eman Suleman, Khushhal Khan, Faiza Gillani, Anika Zulfikar, and Franco Giusti among others. Barzakh will also explore themes like mental health, postpartum depression, generational trauma and gender inclusivity.

The series is produced by Shailja Kejriwal and Waqas Hassan, with Mo Azmi as the cinematographer. The show will drop new episodes every Tuesday and Friday at 7:30 pm (Pakistani Standard Time) on Zindagi’s official YouTube channel and ZEE5.
