Wajahat Rauf, the famous director of the “Karachi se Lahore” series, and web series Enaaya, has released an announcement video of his next film, “Chhalawa”.
The off the beaten track 40 second video featuring the principal cast of the film involves the director walking on to a decorated set, that looks like it was built for a wedding or dance sequence, introducing Mehwish Hayat which is followed by the introduction of rest of the cast and title of the film, i-e, “Chhalawa”
“Chhalawa” is third offering by Wajaht Rauf under his production company Showcase productions. Film is not only directed and produced by Wajahat but is also written by himself. In his own words about film, “It has the right mix of comedy, emotions and a message too”.
The music of the film has been composed by the talented Shiraz Uppal who was also onboard with Noori band for “Karachi Sey Lahore” and lent melodic tunes for “Lahore Sey Aagy” . The director of photography is Asad Khan who has “Bachana” and “Lahore Sey Agay” on his credits, the lead editor is Hasan Ali Khan, wardrobe and styling is done by Muneeb Nawaz and Asma Sohail Hashmi while the make up has been done by Nabila’s according to details.
“Chhalawa” stars Mehwish Hayat, Azfar Rehman, Zara Noor Abbas, Asad Siddiqui, Aashir Wajahat, and Mahmood Aslam.
Film is slated for Eid ul Fitr release this year and will be released in cinemas by Eveready Pictures and HUM Films.
