“Sher Dil” and “Laal Kabootar” are maintaining altitude as Hollywood summer releases approach. Both films have continued their hold at the box office and have generated decent numbers over the four weeks of their release.
“Sher Dil” has emerged as the undisputed champion of the box office, minting 11.23 crores and becoming the highest grossing film in Pakistan for 2019. The film generated 80 lacs in it’s fourth weekend. Overseas, the film has seen a slow response, generating 15 lacs in North America (US and Canada) and 25 lacs in the UK. The film has also been released in the UAE but box office numbers for there are yet to be reported.
“Laal Kabootar”, though clearly the underdog in this race, has continued to draw in niche audiences. It has generated 28 lacs in the fourth weekend, bringing in a total of 2.91 crore. The film may very well gross 4 crore and emerge as a cult film in the years to come.
