Exclusive Overseas Box Office Report of ‘Superstar’, ‘Parey Hut Love’ and ‘Heer Maan Ja’

This Eid Ul Azha has been especially fruitful for Pakistani cinema. With the three local releases each raking in respectable totals from domesticdomestic and overseas markets, it’s not only a sign that local audiences are growing, but that there is a large market for local content in overseas.

Let’s have a look at these film’s performance in major overseas markets like UK, North America (USA and Canada), UAE and Australia.

Superstar (3 Weeks)

Mahira Khan starrer emerged as the winner in the UK market, grossing 2.92 Cr, but settled for a distant second place in North America with 2.08 Cr till the end of third weekend. Film’s run in UAE and Australia is almost over with approximate totals of 0.75 Cr and 0.20 Cr respectively. Film’s total of these key overseas territories aggregates at an approximate 6 Cr.

Parey Hut Love (3 weeks)

“Parey Hut Love” conquered the North American box office with a return of 2.94 Cr till third weekend. It also placed a close second in the UK market with 2.72 Cr till Sunday. Like “Superstar”, “Parey Hut Love” has exhausted in UAE and Australia with numbers around 0.71 Cr and 0.07 Cr, respectively. The totals of these major overseas territories come to 6.44 Cr.

Heer Maan Ja (4 days)

Though not released yet in the UK and UAE, “Heer Maan Ja” just managed to scrape 0.28 Cr in North America in the first 4 days. That’s just a tenth of PHL and Superstar’s grosses in the same market. However, since the other two made their totals in 3 weeks, “Heer Maan Ja” has a lot of time to catch up. Film will release in UK and UAE in September.
