The anticipation for Abu Aleeha’s upcoming film ‘Taxali Gate’ starring Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain has been massive. As we finally inch closer to the release, the filmmaker shared the movie’s trailer. And we are left in awe of his filmmaking caliber.
Touted as a dark comedy tossed with humor, the trailer opens up with Ayesha Omar’s character essaying the role of a sex worker. She is willing to seal her bond with her customer played by Hussain. The latter however refuses to do so as she would lose her regular income. Centered on a murder in the vicinity, we see Mehar Bano fighting a legal battle seeking justice.
The trailer is well-cut, crisp and to the point. Aleeha only reveals enough to attract the audience to the theatre to experience his most expensive film to date. The background score is fresh. Shot at real locations, the aesthetics, visuals and production design create a unique world.
Ayesha Omar and Yasir Hussain look completely in charge of their characters as they mouth one memorable line after another. Though the cast is an eclectic one, Iffat Omar, Babar Ali, Mehar Bano, Nayyar Ejaz and Omer Alam, it is easy to determine that Omar and Hussain will most likely steal the show.
Aleeha is well-versed in the art of extracting the best from his actors. Previously, there have been instances where actors who had the reputation of starring in commercially viable ventures only were transformed by Aleeha into serious performers. First ‘Javed Iqbal’ and now ‘Taxali Gate’, Ayesha Omar is set to surprise the audience with her stunning transformation. If we recall Omar’s filmography so far, her act in ‘Taxali Gate’ trailer comes across as highly impactful.
‘Taxali Gate’ is slated for theatrical release on February 16.
